General Rules & Regulations
At Ganapathy Chettiar CBSE Senior Secondary School, we believe discipline is the backbone of character building. The following rules are established to foster a structured, respectful, and nurturing educational environment. All students and parents are expected to read, understand, and strictly adhere to these regulations.
For Students
School Timing & Punctuality
- Students must report to school before the first bell rings. Late arrivals will not be entertained unless supported by a valid reason.
- Habitual latecomers will be noted and may face disciplinary action.
Uniform & Grooming
- Students should wear the complete and clean school uniform every day.
- Hair must be neat and properly groomed. Boys must maintain a clean haircut. Girls with long hair must braid it properly.
Attendance & Leave
- A minimum of 85% attendance is mandatory for appearing in final assessments.
- Leave requests should be submitted in writing, signed by parents. Medical leave must be accompanied by a doctor’s certificate.
Discipline & Behavior
- Students must show respect to teachers, staff, and fellow students.
- Misbehavior, bullying, use of foul language, or disobedience will result in disciplinary action, including suspension if necessary.
Use of Gadgets
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, cameras, and electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the school campus.
- If found, the item will be confiscated and returned only to the parent at the end of the academic year.
Cleanliness & Environment
- Students are responsible for keeping classrooms, corridors, and toilets clean.
- Littering and defacing school property are serious offenses.
Homework & Academic Integrity
- Daily homework, assignments, and projects must be submitted on time.
- Cheating or copying in exams or classwork will lead to immediate disciplinary measures.
Use of School Property
- Students must handle laboratory instruments, library books, computers, and classroom resources with care.
- Any intentional damage to school property must be compensated by the student’s guardian.
Participation in Activities
- All students must take part in co-curricular activities, school assemblies, and club programs unless exempted for valid reasons.
- Prior approval is needed for non-participation in sports or physical education classes.
Identification
- Students must wear their school ID card daily. Entry without an ID may be denied.
For Parents/Guardians
Communication & Co-operation
- Parents must regularly check the school diary, notices, and mobile app for updates and circulars.
- Prompt responses to school communications are appreciated.
PTM & Feedback
- Parents must attend Parent-Teacher Meetings to discuss the progress and behavior of their child.
- Suggestions and concerns can be formally raised during PTMs or via written communication.
Fee Payment
- All fees must be paid as per the notified schedule. Delay in payment may attract a late fee or denial of services like report cards or access to exams.
Student’s Well-being
- Inform the school of any emotional, behavioral, or medical concerns of the child.
- Ensure proper rest, nutrition, and learning time at home.
School Transport Rules
- If availing school transport, students must strictly follow bus discipline.
- Damage to the bus or misconduct will result in withdrawal of transport facility.
Change of Information
- Any change in mobile numbers, residential address, or emergency contact must be immediately updated with the school office.
Support for Homework
- Parents are advised to supervise homework and encourage regular study habits, but should avoid doing the work themselves.
Avoid Private Tuition from School Teachers
- To maintain academic integrity, private tuition from teachers of the same school is discouraged unless recommended by the school.
Withdrawal & Transfers
- If planning to withdraw a child, follow the school’s withdrawal policy and provide prior notice as specified.
Behavior on Campus
- Parents visiting the campus should follow courteous conduct and carry proper identification if requested.
